The last place university healing student, Katharina, wants to be is lugging buckets of water to the military training field. Especially when her time could be better spent studying. When her grades begin to suffer from her exhaustive class load, she sacrifices time she doesn't have to spare volunteering with the military students for some vital extra credit. But when her new position puts her in proximity to the infamous Ezekiel Insula, she adds 'major distraction' to the ongoing list of things she must deal with.​

Katharina knows all about Ezekiel. He's s cavorting druggie with a penchant for fighting that she needs to stay far away from. After witnessing her brother's destructive battle with addiction, Katharina would rather walk to Hel itself then be tied to someone like that . Yet, she cannot seem to escape Ezekiel or his looming presence.

When an upcoming project becomes the perfect guise to overcome her infuriating curiosity and attraction, Katharina enlists Ezekiel's help.  But as she discovers there’s more to him than everyone thinks, it calls into question just how many other things she’s misunderstood.

Letting herself be distracted could jeopardize the future she's so close to claiming for herself, or it could bring her closer to a fate she never could have anticipated.
